Fredrick was born first of two brothers and received the typical childhood of Noirian aristocracy; he was raised by a Noirian Nanny and received tutoring in English, French, and piano from a young age as well as attending Southbridge Pre-Prep School. At age 5 he progressed to Southbridge Prep School and then at age 11, Southbridge School. Outside of school, Fredrick partook in horse riding and dance lessons alongside piano.

During his time at Southbridge School, Fredrick met Edwin Carlton, a scholarship student from Yorkshire. While he spent most of his time at school with his cousins Marcus Charbonneau I and Jeremy Blackwood but in private became closer to Edwin and the two of them eventually started a relationship in secret.

Just before Fredrick was due to graduate from Southbridge School he and Edwin ran away together and not long after were presumed dead. The two of them settled in an isolated area in the North of England.
