Jeremy was born the second child of Gideon Blackwood and Elizabeth Blackwood. Jeremy experienced sexual abuse from his parents at an early age. He went on to sexually abuse his sister, Josephine.

Jeremy attended Southbridge School and spent the majority of his time there with Marcus Charbonneau and Fredrick Blackwood.

As young adults, Jeremy and his sister, Josephine, were married and had two children. The first: Harriet Blackwood, and the second: Theodore Blackwood. Josephine passed away as a result of complications during the birth of their son, Theodore and Theodore passed away at age 8 due to health complications.

Jeremy and his daughter Harriet were engaged to be wed but this arrangement was broken off when Russell Charbonneau asked for Jeremy's daughter's hand in marriage. From there, Jeremy moved into the Charbonneau estate with his daughter and son-in-law until they had children of their own.
