Toby was born the first child of Damon Stower and Bethany Hart. A few years later, his younger sister, Kaylyn was born.

During Toby's childhood, the family moved around a lot due to financial problems and would often stay in B&Bs and charity shelters for periods of time. Because of this, Toby attended various local primary schools. During a period of stability, Toby enjoyed school and spent much of his time with his best friend, often staying over at his house.

When Toby was 12, his father was convicted for robbery and at 14, Toby started teaching himself to play a bass guitar left behind by one of his sister's boyfriends.

As an adult, Toby lives in a rented room and works various jobs to pay his rent. Outside of work, Toby performs with his band, writes songs, and practices playing.
